Perhaps, it is quite a boring task to take vegetables and chew them. Moreover, you need some time for all this. As we all know it’s a time of rush so we have to do our task faster so there is no time to cut the salad and have it with relaxation.

I always start my day with a glass of smoothie. Perhaps I am making this drink for over 6 to 7 years. The time when my friend introduces a smoothie it was a bit odd to take the green smoothie. But it tasted superb and then I decided to take it regularly and even I make some changes to it and make it even more delicious.
Few of my friends often ask me why I bother with a green smoothie and not just take the green vegetables in the salad.
So, I tell them a few reasons why I like smoothies over salads.
The first reason I give them it is very convenient. If I am in a rush to go to a meeting so I can quickly prepare it and have it in my breakfast. So, it can boost up my energy and I can work all day.
Moreover, the plus point of this smoothie is you can take it at any time of the day. You can take this as your lunch even in any gathering you can serve it as a fresh drink.
The second reason that I give them is it is full of nutrition. Many of us know that eating green vegetables is a good habit but we don’t have enough time to have it. Hence, in this drink, you can add many things like kale, collards, and parsleys.
However, you can add many other materials that you like. It is a good and best drink. I mostly call this an energy power bank. Because when I started to take smoothie it gives me more strength and energy and I feel fresh the whole day.
The third reason is I give them to my kids. Because they have many other activities to do. My younger daughter joins the hockey team and she needs plenty of energy to carry her hobby with the studies.
When she goes to the hockey practice she takes the smoothie with her. As I mentioned earlier it is an energy power bank. Hence, she feels good and doesn’t get stressed after the practice, and easily able to do the home task.
The fourth reason is it is easily digestible. As we all know that smoothie is the best drink. Drink it with patience. Mostly we take meals quickly that we like most but I recommend you to take it with patience so it can be easily digested able.
The last reason that I like the most is it is best for the people who are on diet plans. It is oil-free and soy-free etc. Besides all this, it is the best drink I have ever tasted. Moreover, I have noticed that I lose my weight since I start to drink smoothies. So I will highly recommend it.
After my last reason, many ladies ask me how I prepare it which fruits I use, and also about some tips. So, I thought to share my plan with you.
Fruits to be used in Smoothies
You can use any fruit you like. Seasonal fruits can also be used in smoothies. Moreover, if you want to use cherry or a blueberry then do remember the colour of the smoothie will not remain green due to its dark colour.

You can also use other fruits in your smoothie. Some green vegetables that you can use in your smoothie may include.

- Carrot tops.
- Swiss chard.
- Romaine lettuce.
- Collard greens.
- Beet greens.
Moreover, if you are fresh to drink the green smoothie then I will recommend you to select spinach as a green vegetable to freeze it. Hence, it can be used for a month if you freeze it.
To make the drink more powerful you can also include some add-ins to your drink. I start adding the protein powder 2 years after the birth of my second baby. Other add-ins you can use like.
- Bee pollen.
- Raw cacao nibs.
- Chia Seeds.
- Coconut oil.
- Acai Berry powder.
- Collagen powder.

How to Prepare a Fresh Smoothie?
Step number one is to select the best blender for a smoothie. If you want the texture of the smoothie to be smooth. Hence, it can blend your ingredients quickly and in a perfect way. So, you don’t feel pieces in your drink that is often irritating.
The second step I follow is to add the liquid material to your blending jug. I use almond milk because it is my favourite. Other options for liquids are:
- Coconut milk.
- Rice milk.
- Cashew milk.
- Coconut water.
- Simple water.
- Dairy milk.
The third step is to add the green vegetables. I would like to add the spinach as I mentioned earlier. You can use frozen vegetables and also fresh ones. It’s your choice.
The fourth step is to add frozen or fresh fruits on top of the green leaves. As it applies some force on the leaf to settle down. Any fruit you can use from the above list or of your choice I would like to add the pineapples.
The last step is to blend all the ingredients. Blend it until you get the smooth texture of the smoothie.
When it is fully blended, pour it into the glass and have it. You will like it.
